Logistics — Cross-border

Cross-border coal haulage across SADC

Moving coal across an African border involves export permits, certificates of origin, transit bonds, axle-load compliance and destination customs entry. Get one wrong and the truck stops.

We handle the full documentation chain in-house so buyers receive coal, not paperwork problems.

Documentation we manage

Commercial invoice and packing list, certificate of origin (SADC or COMESA), export permit, weighbridge and analysis certificates, transit bond, customs entry and proof of delivery.

  • SADC certificate of origin for duty preference
  • COMESA certificate for Zambia, DRC, Malawi and East Africa
  • Bonded transit through Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique
  • Axle-load and abnormal-load compliance on every corridor

Borders we operate through

Beitbridge, Plumtree, Kazungula, Chirundu, Victoria Falls, Forbes/Machipanda, Nyamapanda, Mwanza and Kasumbalesa.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay import duty on Zimbabwean coal?
Within SADC and COMESA, a valid certificate of origin generally removes duty on Zimbabwean-origin coal. We supply the certificate with every export consignment.
